wires had severely gotten crossed when homura had been sent out to dewford in order to help take care of things. more like they had intercepted a message from someone on accident looking for a very different person with the surname tachibana and decided to see what it was all about. and now reading back on the message realized that once more they were put in a dangerous position. but that didn't matter. floating along on one of their pokemon, coolie the tentacool to be exact, they were waiting on someone who was supposed to be helping with all this. or they were supposed to be helping them. either way they didn't really know.

"hello?" they approached eden, still floating gently on the tentacool. after all pirates were in the water so it made sense to be in the water too. "are you here for the pirates?" if they were a pirate then they would probably not say yes. probably.

the old lady seemed nervous for some reason. that was shady. perhaps she was a pirate in disguise. but she didn't have a peg leg... as far as homura could tell. "do you have a water type? to get to the cave?" obviously homura was floating, holding onto their tentacool. but releasing another water type was easy as gemmie the staryu came out.

"you can use gemmie. let's go." urging coolie forward they kicked their feet while using the water type as a flotation device. if the bad people were stealing from others then they would just have to stop them from using their boats. gemmie had an attack that could help with that. probably. if all went well they probably wouldn't have to battle at all. just sink a bunch of boats to make the pirates stop being bad.

gemmie did in fact follow homura as they approached the pirate's ships. after all that was the whole point since they were going to the same place together. but they were confused when the old lady said to attack from two fronts. "why not just have gemmie sink their ships? and then they can't fight at all. there's more of them than there are us so not being noticed is important." after all at the moment between the two of them there were three pokemon, two of which were being used as flotation devices. it would be silly to give away their position.

"when the ships are all sunked and the pirates are all gone then they can come in with the wailmers and scoop it all up! that way we won't even get caught." they were very convinced that the league obviously had a lot of wailmers if they were going to be taking on all the pirates.

gemmie was a very capable pokemon, all of tachibana's were really since they had to look after the twelve year old. so a rapid fire power gem attack to the hull of the ship was easy enough for it. to cause further issues coolie managed to use surf in order to stir up some waves. to make the little boats more difficult to get into and stay inside of for the pirates.

their disruptions and ship wrecking mostly completed tachibana followed where gemmie and the old lady went to retreat to. this job seemed pretty easy. they wondered why it was such a big deal when they had adults do these things. after all grown ups were supposed to take care of bad guys. but they'd sent them here to do it instead.

"now we get paid?" they could use the money to buy some more gum.

when they got back to the shore, tachibana recalled their pokemon. knowing that they couldn't really follow them on land very well. well, gemmie could. but coolie wouldn't be able to follow them. and that made them kind of sad. how would coolie ever know how to walk if it couldn't hang out on land? sad. "gum?" they gently took the old ladies hand and followed her to the store, certain that since she was with the league it meant that it was fine to follow her around.
